Red Fort - Best historic place to visit in Delhi

 Red Fort

Red Ford Delhi

is a historic place in the Indian city of Delhi capital of India .It was the principal residence of the Mughal dynasty for almost 200 years, until 1856.

It is located in the center of Delhi and is home to many museums. In addition to accommodating the emperors and their families, it was the Mughal state's military and political center and the most influential events in the region.

Built in 1639 by the fifth Mughal ruler Shah Jahan as the palace of his fortified capital Shahjahanabad, the Red Fort is named after its massive red walled walls andis close to the old Salgargarh Fort, built by Islam Shah Suri in 1546 AD.

The state flats contain a series of booths, connected by a water channel known as the Stream of Paradise (Nahr-i-Bihisht).

This mansion is considered to represent the Mughal art of architecture under Shah Jahan,  and although the palace was set in Islamic architecture, each tent has typicalMughal architecture that reflects the cultural mix of Timurid and Persian.

The architectural style of the Red Fort, including the landscape, has influenced recent buildings and gardens in Delhi, Rajasthan, Punjab, Kashmir, Braj, Rohilkhand and elsewhere.

The fort was plundered by art and jewelery when Nadir Shah invaded the Mughal Empire in 1747.Most of the precious marble structures were destroyed by the British after the 1857 Revolt.

The defensive walls of the fortress survived, after which the fortress was used as an army.Red Fort was the site where the British sued Mughal Emperor before deporting him to Rangoon in 1858.

Every year on India's independence day (15 August), the Prime Minister raises the Indian flag "tricoror" at the main gate of the castle and delivers a speech that is broadcast.

Red Fort is an example of the Mughal era in India and is the face of tourist attractions in Delhi.Built in 1638, it is a marvel of the Mughal monuments made of red sandstone.
